The Presidency has announced that President Bola Tinubu and his aides are set to return to Nigeria from Europe today. The announcement comes after over two weeks of diplomatic engagements abroad.
President Tinubu embarked on his journey with a primary objective of meeting with Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte, in The Netherlands. This meeting was aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Nigeria and The Netherlands.
Following this, the President attended a special World Economic Forum (WEF) in Saudi Arabia, underscoring Nigeria’s commitment to global economic cooperation and development initiatives.
However, upon completion of the WEF summit, unforeseen circumstances prolonged President Tinubu’s stay abroad. Speculations arose concerning his whereabouts, with some reports suggesting he had travelled to London and then to France for private visits.
The delay in the President’s return sparked curiosity and concern among Nigerians. However, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed that President Tinubu, accompanied by his aides, would be back in the country today.
