The opposition to the emergence of All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu as Nigeria’s president-elect has taken on a new dimension on social media, with Nigerians questioning his eligibility to lead Africa’s most populous country.
Twitter users flocked to promote the hashtags #TinubuTheDrugDealer and #TinubuForPrison in connection with his document settlement with US authorities in a heroin trafficking-related case.
The thread was responsible for Tinubu spokesman Bayo Onanuga’s Twitter outburst, in which he referred to those tweeting the trend as “sons of bitches.”
Here are some tweets gathered by The Quest Times
@Realsamosky A drug baron cannot be Nigeria’s next President. Tinubu is cancerous and needs to be stopped before he metastasizes.
