In a recent development, Ukraine’s military reported successfully neutralizing 21 out of 49 Iranian-made “Shahed” drones launched by Russia during overnight hostilities.
Additionally, six guided missiles were aimed at the northeastern city of Kharkiv, though it remains unclear if they hit their intended targets.
The Ukrainian air force, communicating through Telegram on Sunday, highlighted that the drones specifically targeted the front line of defense and various civilian, military, and infrastructure facilities in the front-line territories.
Quest Times also learned that the statement did not confirm the outcome of the missile strikes.
Oleg Sinegubov, the head of Kharkiv city’s military administration, disclosed that the attack resulted in 28 civilians being wounded, including two teenagers and a foreign citizen.
This incident follows a recent assault on the city of Belgorod and an exchange of accusations between Ukraine and Russia, regarding civilian areas being targeted along their shared frontier.
Notably, the strike on Belgorod on Saturday, marked the deadliest attack on Russian civilians since the conflict’s onset in February 2022.
Tragically, at least 22 persons lost their lives, with many more sustaining injuries. Moscow asserted that the attack involved controversial cluster munitions, alleging that Kyiv targeted a sports centre, an ice rink, and a university.
