Don Jazzy, a music executive and talent manager, recently opened up about Nigerian music superstars he had the opportunity to sign to his label but didn’t for different reasons.
In a recent interview with YouTuber Fisayo Fosudo, the founder of Mavin Records expressed regret at not being able to sign some of the artists.
According to Don Jazzy, he stated that he had an opportunity to sign Davido, but he believed Davido would find success on his own. He also stated that he admired Wizkid, but another artist, Banky W, signed him first. Don Jazzy revealed he came close to signing a deal with rapper and activist, Falz.
Don Jazzy also revealed that he had the opportunity to sign Singers Teni and Simi to his record label but ended up not signing them to his regret.

He said, “I like Simi, I didn’t sign her. I wish did. I like Teni, but I didn’t sign her. I wish I did. I had the opportunity of signing Davido but I didn’t because I kind of figured that I would be fine. Wizkid, obviously. I couldn’t because Banky W got him first. That would have been amazing. Falz, I love this work. We almost had a deal”.
