In her upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me,” American singer Britney Spears reveals that she had an abortion while dating record producer Justin Timberlake in the early 2000s.
Spears wrote that she and Timberlake were “young and in love” when she became pregnant, but they realized they were not ready to become parents. Their romance spanned from 1999 to 2002.
“At one point when we were dating, I became pregnant with Justin’s baby.”
She said that Timberlake was not supportive of the pregnancy, but she ultimately made the decision to have an abortion herself.
“It was one of the most agonizing things I have ever endured in life,” Spears writes. “But I knew it was the right decision for me and for my future.”
The 41 year-old mother of two expressed deep love for Timberlake and her aspirations to build a family with him. However, the unexpected pregnancy forced them to confront the reality that they were not prepared to become parents at such a young age.
