Nigerian music sensation Bella Shmurda, born Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, recently took to social media to address the reasons behind his decision not to pay his final respects to his late friend and fellow artist, Mohbad, who tragically passed away just days ago.
In a heartfelt message shared on his official Twitter account, Bella Shmurda explained that he believes Mohbad’s spirit lives on, which is why he hasn’t bid a traditional farewell. He also voiced his opinion that genuine respect can only be given when those who wronged the departed singer are held accountable for their actions.
Bella Shmurda went further, issuing a stern warning to the public, highlighting the urgent need to eradicate practices like “godfatherism,” particularly within the entertainment industry and the streets.

In his own words, Bella stated, “Badman will never rest. As the King of the South and West, I won’t offer my last respects because your spirit continues to live. Until those who oppressed him face justice and are sentenced, there’s nothing like last respect. Igboro, be aware.”
