The acting leader of Afenifere, a Pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has reaffirmed his support for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi.
Adebanjo, a guest speaker at the public presentation of the book titled: “The Challenges of Good Governance and Leadership in Nigeria; The Peter Obi Factor” held Thursday at Welcome Centre Hotel, Lagos, urged Nigerians to support the presidential bid of the Labour Party flag-bearer who he considers as “best fitted for the job”.
“As you already know, I am 94 years old. I will be enjoying in my grave soon and you will suffer, particularly the youths of this nation if you fail to vote for Peter Obi. We know what we are saying. I am warning you people now.

“The Obi-Datti choice has no money to spend, but they will spend ideas. Obi is the only candidate that can hold the country together in unity. He will not discriminate against anybody.
“Let Nigerians take up their thinking cap, forget ethnicity and vote for the Labour Party. Obi is the right man for the country,” he said.
In a related development, Adebanjo has rubbished plans by the erstwhile leader of Afenifere to move the venue of their meeting to Akure.
Adebanjo, who laughed at Fasoranti’s statement, said they are waiting to see who would attend any Afenifere meeting in Akure.
Adebanjo’s outburst is coming on the heels of Fasoranti’s endorsement of Tinubu on behalf of Afenifere, in Akure on Sunday, which contradicted the earlier position of Adebanjo who had endorsed Obi.
“No problem. Let them hold the meetings in Akure and see the number of people that will attend. I am the leader of Afenifere. They are just trying to cause confusion and I won’t help them to do that,” Adebanjo was quoted as saying.
