Nigerian Afrobeats star Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, has hinted at a potential 4-5 year break from music to focus on other interests, including football, golf, FIFA gaming, or even wrestling.
The revelation came in a series of Instagram posts, in which Wizkid responded to a fan’s query about when a new music would be coming.
“I’m on a holiday right now, enjoying my life,” Wizkid wrote. “Maybe in four or five years, I’ll come back to music. Or maybe I’ll just go into football, golf, FIFA, or wrestling. Who knows?”
Quest Times reports that Wizkid’s announcement comes after a busy year for the singer, who recently organized a lavish burial ceremony for his late mother, which drew significant attention.
In another post, Wizkid paid tribute to his late mother, calling her death “the deepest pain I have ever felt in my life.”
“I don’t even know how to explain the pain that I feel,” Wizkid wrote. “It’s impossible for it to go away.”
