Nollywood actress Basira Badia, also known as Eniola Iyiola, has responded to claims made by her colleague Adunni Ade that some actors in the Yoruba film industry were paid N90,000 to campaign for former Lagos State Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
During an Instagram Live session, Badia questioned Ade about allegations that some English-speaking actors received N3 million to attend a dinner hosted by Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State.
Badia also accused Ade of having an abortion for a married man, echoing a claim made by another actress, Aminatu Papapa.
Badia praised MC Oluomo for his contributions to the industry, saying he had supported her and other actors without favoritism based on tribe.
She criticized the alleged hypocrisy of some celebrities and urged Ade to stop making derogatory comments about groups of people.
In response to Badia, English-speaking ctresses Anita Joseph, Blessing Obasi, and Adaora Ukoh fired jabs at the Yourba thespian.
Joseph commented asking Iyiola to speak in English rather than Yoruba, saying “What is this abeg hiaaa, please if you want to talk to the public add English don’t give us more headache abegiiii. INEC is enough wahala.”
Obasi wrote “No peace for the wicked,” and Ukoh asked Iyiola to clarify her statements, saying “Make it make sense.”
