Mr. Ajay Banga, the new President of the World Bank, is visiting Nigeria for the first time and will be received at the Presidential Villa today by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The visit is raising expectations of job opportunities for young people based on the plans of both the Tinubu administration and the focus of the new boss of the global financial institution, who has set a developmental agenda for developing countries such as Nigeria.
Banga is on a global tour that will last until December 2023, and his visit to Nigeria will also include a meeting with Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima.

It is believed that the visit is particularly to identify opportunities to create jobs for young people and women, addressing energy needs and renewable energy as part of Banga’s new developmental agenda.
