In a shocking incident that took place in Apamisede Community, Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State, a 19-year-old boy named Goodness Oshodi was arrested by the Kogi State Command.
Goodness is accused of brutally beating his stepbrother, Friday Oshodi, and burying him alive, all because of an alleged N1000 theft.
Fortunately, vigilant neighbors intervened and rescued the victim, preventing a tragedy. The incident unfolded after Goodness’s mother asked him to punish Friday for supposedly stealing her N1000. In compliance with his mother’s instructions, Goodness subjected Friday to severe beatings before the shocking act of burying him alive.
Goodness defended his actions by claiming he was merely carrying out his mother’s directives, as she had instructed him to discipline his brother for the alleged theft. Significantly, his mother was not present at the time but was attending church.
The Kogi State Police spokesperson, SP William Aya, confirmed the incident and the subsequent arrest of Goodness. He stated, “Yes, we are aware. The boy has been arrested, investigation is ongoing as to why and how such a thing could happen.”
