The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele has joined the swelling number of aspirants who will battle it out for the 2023 APC Presidential nomination.
According to Daily Trust, Emefiele confirmed his entry into the contest when he picked up the N100m Expression of Interest and Presidential nomination forms on Friday, May 6, 2022, from the APC’s National Organising Secretary at the International Conference Centre (ICC) in Abuja.

The former Managing Director of Zenith Bank was appointed CBN Governor by ex-president Goodluck Jonathan, and became the first to be re-appointed to a second tenure.
Speaking earlier in February on his rumoured 2023 presidential bid, the Delta-State native said it was firmly in the hands of God.
“Given that it’s God that anoints leaders, he will leave his faith (sic) firmly in the hands of God,” he was quoted to have said.
