The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has been described as an excellent candidate that is contesting on a weak political platform.
The spokesperson for the Atiku-Okowa Campaign Organisation in Anambra State, Dr. Law Mefor, made this claim while on Channels Television on Monday.
He said; “If I were convinced that Peter Obi and Labour would win I wouldn’t be here but I’m not convinced.
“Peter Obi is an excellent candidate, no doubt. Infact if I could make him a President, I would have but he is standing on a very weak platform.
“When we were agitating for production of Nigeria President from the South East, we have Peter Obi in mind also, but he left PDP for Labour and Labour Party is not a good platform for a presidential race.
“This security in the south east is causing vote surpression and if we allow it to continue without being address in the next one month, the outcome from the vote from that zone will not be too wonderful. And we have seen indication.
“I use the Anambra Governorship election as an example that 112,000 elected a Governor in a place where you have 2.5 million voters is something that needs to be addressed. What has to be done, the security agency need to double their efforts.
“They need to tackle insecurity in the south east so that people will feel free to come out and exercise their franchise.”
