Prominent South-South leader and elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark, on Tuesday, endorsed the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi for the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
Edwin Clark, who addressed journalists at his Asokoro residence, Abuja, declared that with the former Anambra State governor as President of Nigeria, the country would be more united.
Clark said the one who must be the next President of the country must be educated and experienced, stressing that South-East should be allowed to produce the next President of the country.
He insisted that the zone has resourceful and educated people who can govern the country.
Chief Clark called on Obi to tackle the issues of the injustices and environmental degradation in the Niger Delta region if elected as President.
The Ijaw leader’s backing is the second high-profile endorsement to be received by Obi in three days.
