Nigeria’s Aliko Dangote has once again secured the top spot as the wealthiest person in Africa, as revealed by the latest Forbes Real-Time Billionaires update.
In a swift turnaround, Dangote reclaimed his position after South African magnate, Johann Rupert, briefly held the title last week.
As of January 8, Dangote’s net worth saw a $10 million increase, reaching $10.1 billion. Meanwhile, Rupert’s fortunes took a dip, decreasing from $10.7 billion on January 30, 2023, to $10 billion on the same date.
Dangote, leading the Dangote Group, now stands at the 191st position on Forbes’ global list, surpassing Rupert, who is ranked 197th worldwide.
