Ademola Adeleke who is famous for his dance steps, especially during political or social gatherings, was inaugurated on Sunday, November 27, as the sixth executive Governor of Osun, in a rousing occasion.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Adeleke of PDP the winner of the July 16 governorship election in the State.
The senator polled a total of 403, 371 votes to defeat the incumbent Governor, Gboyega Oyetola of All Progressive Congress (APC) who bagged 375, 027 to emerge 2nd in the race.

However, not much is known about the personality of Adeleke, the man who championed the ‘Imole’ mantra that became a campaign slogan in Osun.

1. Ademola Adeleke was born on May 13, 1960 in Enugu, Nigeria.
2. He is 62 years old.
3. The dancing senator attended the Methodist Primary School in Surulere, Lagos.
4. He also attended Nawarudeen Primary School, Ikire. Thereafter, progressed to The Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School, Ede and later moved to Muslim Grammar School Ede after which he left Nigeria for Alabama in the United States of America.
5. Adeleke studied Criminology at Jacksonville State University in Alabama.
6. Unknown to many political observers outside Osun, Adeleke’s mum was an Igbo woman from Enugu identified as Esther Nnena Adeleke with a Christian background, according to media sources.
7. Adeleke is father of two Nigerian singers (B-Red and Shina Rambo) and also doubles as uncle to popular Nigerian singer, Davido. Adeleke ‘s love for music has become a public sensation such that he has a unique dance style which his nephew – Davido – sang about in his debut single, ‘Dami Duro’.
8. Ademola’s father, who was the Balogun of Ede, was an astute politician and a second Republic Senator.
9. Ademola’s dad was one of the major political pillars of the defunct Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN, where he worked alongside the legendary premier of Western Nigeria, Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
10. Ademola became a Senator after he replaced his late brother, Isiaka Adeleke, to represent Osun West senatorial district at the Nigerian Senate in 2017.
