The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has just revealed the top eleven players who shone during the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
In this impressive lineup, players from Senegal and Morocco dominate, showcasing their exceptional skills on the field. Surprisingly, no Nigerian footballer secured a spot in this remarkable list.
Stepping into the limelight is Equatorial Guinea’s goalkeeper, Jesus Owono, displaying outstanding skills. Joining him is Emilio Nsue, his teammate and leading goal scorer with an impressive tally of five goals.
Morocco’s strength is evident with four of their players making the cut. The midfield dynamo Sofyan Amrabat, alongside Azzedine Ounahi, and solid defenders Achraf Hakimi and Nayef Aguerd, contribute to the team’s success.
Defending champions Senegal also claim their stake with three outstanding players – center-back Kalidou Koulibaly, winger Ismaila Sarr, and midfielder Lamine Camara.
Completing the stellar lineup are Angola’s attacking force Gelson Dala and the Democratic Republic of Congo’s left-back Arthur Masuaku.
