Popular Nigerian singer Sarah Aderibigbe better known as Ayra Starr, is excited to announce that her hit song “Rush” is being considered for a Grammy nomination in the newly created “Best African Performance” category.
Quest Times reports that the promising young artiste made the announcement on her social media page on Wednesday, writing, “I am excited and honoured that my song “Rush” off my debut album 19&Dangerious deluxe is being considered for this year’s #GRAMMY Awards!”
The elated singer also thanked the creative team that worked on the song, including Andre Vibez, Unusual Mbryo, Johnny Drille, and Prod Hoops, as well as her record label, Mavin Records, and her fans.

A total of 122 songs have been submitted for consideration in the “Best African Performance” category, which will be presented for the first time at the 66th Grammy Awards in 2024.
The category is open to artists of African descent who have recorded and released a song that is commercially available in the United States during the eligibility period.
Besides, the song must be primarily in an African language or dialect and must be representative of African culture and heritage.
