Bandits have invaded Bukkuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, kidnapping the district head of Ruwan Rana, Alhaji Magaji Makau, including five other residents.
Quest Times gathered that the bandits, who stormed the community, entered on Saturday night with motorcycles and started shooting sporadically, forcing residents to run for safety.
Although, police authorities in the state are yet to confirm the incident.
However, a resident of Bukkuyum town, Ilyasu Abubakar, reportedly disclosed that immediately the armed men entered the community, residents started hiding because they knew that the bandits were there to abduct people.
According to Abubakar, he said that the gunmen abducted five prominent people in the community, including the district head of the community, Alhaji Magaji Makau, during a house-to-house search by the bandits, while adding that the bandits equally stole an unspecified number of livestock which belonged to the residents of the community.
The resident said, “The bandits entered the town on Saturday night and started shooting sporadically, people went into hiding because of the fear of being kidnapped”.
