The Lagos State Appeal Court has upheld the election victory of Governor Siminalayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The court dismissed a petition brought by Patrick Tonye-Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the Rivers state governor and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The court’s decision aligns with the Tribunal’s October verdict, which affirmed Fubara’s win. It was highlighted that the APC withdrew their petition against Fubara’s victory.
Despite Cole’s personal appearance in court, his plea to be declared the rightful winner, citing electoral irregularities, was not accepted.
