The remains of the brave soldiers who lost their lives in the line of duty in Delta State tragedy have arrived at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja.
The bodies, brought in solemn procession by Military Ambulance Emergency vehicles, reached their final resting place at approximately 2:26 pm on Wednesday. Accompanied by the FCT Ambulance Emergency services, the fallen heroes were given the honor they rightfully deserve.
Today, top military leaders from across the nation stand in solidarity to bid farewell to these courageous souls. Distraught family members, grieving relatives, and the wives of fellow soldiers also gather, their hearts heavy with sorrow yet filled with pride for their loved ones’ sacrifice.
The ceremony, set to take place, will witness the presence of dignitaries, including President Bola Tinubu, who will pay their respects to the fallen heroes.
The tragic incident unfolded when troops from the 181 Amphibious Battalion, stationed in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, responded to a distress call in the Okuoma Community. Unfortunately, they were met with hostility from irate youths amidst a communal crisis between the Okuoma and Okoloba communities.
