Former Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, along with his daughter, Fatima, made their appearance at the Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja today. This follows allegations of a N2.7 billion fraud tied to the failed Nigerian Air project.
Accompanied by his daughter, the former minister faced charges brought forth by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The charges, totaling six, accuse Sirika, his daughter, and two others of various offenses related to financial misconduct.
The EFCC alleges that between April 2022 and March 2023, Sirika abused his authority by granting undue advantages to certain entities within Abuja.
Among the charges is the accusation that Sirika awarded a N1.3 billion consultancy contract for the Nigerian Air Start-up to Tianero Nigeria Limited, purportedly without due process.
