British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II is dead, Buckingham Palace has announced
The longest serving British monarch who reigned for 70 years died at the age of 96 in Balmoral Castle, Scotland on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
Buckingham Palace in a statement said, “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
“The King and the Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
The Quest Times reported earlier that Queen Elizabeth II had been placed under medical supervision following the health concerns raised by her doctors on Thursday.

Her son, Charles, the Prince of Wales has ascended the British throne with the Empire set for a 12-day mourning period.
Born Elizabeth Alexander Mary Windsor on April 21, 1926, in Mayfair, London to the Duke and Duchess of York.
Being the daughter of the second son of King George V, Elizabeth’s chances of becoming monarch were low, until the abdication of her uncle King Edward VIII who abandoned the throne to marry American divorcee, Wallis Simpson, paving way for the reign of her father, King George VI.
She married Prince Phillip, the late Duke of Edinburgh on November 20, 1947, giving birth to four children; Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward.
She ascended the British throne on February 6, 1952, while in Kenya due to the passing of her father King George VI. She would eventually surpass the Queen Victoria to become the longest-serving British monarch in history.
