The Delta State Police command has handed over King Ikolo to the military after he surrendered himself.
Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, confirmed this handover.
King Ikolo, one of the individuals wanted by the Defence Headquarters for their alleged involvement in the killing of 17 military personnel in Okuama community, presented himself to the Delta State Police Command on Thursday.
He arrived at the state police command headquarters at 6:41 pm and reported to Police Commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda.
Before surrendering to the police, King Ikolo addressed journalists, maintaining his innocence. He stated, “I am innocent of the allegations against me and the people of my community.”
The Defence Headquarters had earlier declared eight individuals, including King Ikolo, wanted for their alleged roles in the recent killing of 17 military personnel in Delta State. The other individuals declared wanted are Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (also known as Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.
