Chess-in-Slums Founder, Tunde Onakoya, recently made headlines worldwide with his recent feat, surpassing the world record for the longest-ever chess marathon, with an impressive 60 hours of non-stop play.
Onakoya’s return to Nigeria on Wednesday was nothing short of spectacular, as he was greeted with a heartwarming welcome at the airport.

Onakoya’s record-breaking performance surpassed that of Norwegian players, Hallvard Haug Flatebø and Sjur Ferkingstad, who held the previous record of 56 hours and 9 minutes set in 2018.
