Ahead of the commissioning of the Dangote Refinery along the Lekki-Epe corridor by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, May 22, 2023, between 8.00am and 2.00pm, the Lagos State Government has issued a traffic advisory to residents.
This is contained in a statement signed by Dr. Frederic Oladeinde, Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation.
The statement reads: “The Lagos State Government has urged residents to plan their movement in and out of Lekki-Epe zone, due to high vehicular movement that will be witnessed in the axis.
“The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) and other traffic enforcement personnel have been charged with ensuring effective management and control of traffic.”
The statement adds that “motorists are urged to cooperate with this travel advisory to forestall avoidable delays in travel time.”
Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital and most populous city, is plagued with heavy vehicular traffic at the best of times.
