President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has called Muhammadu Buhari from France to exchange Eid greetings with the outgoing President.
Ahead of the May 29 inauguration, questions on the whereabouts of the President-elect have again taken centre stage.
Mixed reactions trailed Tinubu’s absence from the Eid el-Fitr celebrations in Nigeria.
Nigerians wondered about Tinubu’s whereabouts during this year’s Sallah festival in Nigeria.
In the past few weeks, some notable Nigerians have again questioned Tinubu’s disappearing act.
However, in a statement signed by Presidency spokesperson Garba Shehu on Friday, he noted that Buhari and Tinubu exchanged Eid greetings in a phone call to mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
Shehu explained that both leaders thanked God Almighty for seeing the day, and prayed for the stability and the wellbeing of the nation.
He added that Buhari expressed his readiness to welcome Asiwaju Tinubu to the State House as President on May 29.
Tinubu will be taking over the reins of power from Buhari on May 29, 2023 as the 16th President of Nigeria.
He won the February 25 presidential election, defeating Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), among others.
