President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate the Federal Executive Council (FEC) next week, QUESTTIMES has exclusively gathered.
The president last week forwarded a list of 28 ministerial nominees to the Senate for confirmation.
They are Yusuf Maitama Tuggar – Bauchi; Ali Pate –Bauchi; Abubakar Kyari – Borno
Sani Abubakar Danladi – Taraba; Badaru Abubakar – Jigawa; Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai – Kaduna; Ahmed Dangiwa – Katsina; Hannatu Musawa – Katsina; Bello Muhammad Goronyo – Sokoto; Lateef Fagbemi – Kwara
Muhammad Idris – Niger; Iman Suleiman Ibrahim – Nasarawa and Joseph Utsev – Benue.
Others are Olubunmi Tunji Ojo – Ondo; Dele Alake – Ekiti; Olawale Edun – Ogun
Waheed Adebayo Adelabu – Oyo; Nyesom Wike – Rivers; Abubakar Momoh – Edo
Betta Edu – Cross River; Ekperikpe Ekpo – Akwa Ibom; Stella Okotette – Delta
John Enoh – Cross River; Uche Nnaji – Enugu; Doris Aniche Uzoka – Imo; David Umahi – Ebonyi; Nkeiruka Onyejocha – Abia and Uju Kennedy Ohaneye – Anambra.
Also today, the president forwarded an additional list of 19 ministerial nominees to the senate for confirmation. Those who made the fresh list are Abdullahi Tijjani Gwarzo; Bosun Tijani; Dr Maryam Shetty; Isiaka Salako, Tunji Alausa; Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu and Adegboyega Oyetola.
Others are Atiku Bagudu; Bello Matawalle; Ibrahim Geidam; Simon Lalong; Lola Ade John; Shuaibu Abubakar Audu; Prof Tahir Mamman; Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi; Senator Alkali Ahmed Saidu; Senator Heineken Lokpobiri; Uba Maigari Ahmadu and Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo.
A credible source in the presidency informed QUESTTIMES that Wike, who was the immediate past governor of Rivers state will be assigned to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He however said some leaders believes Oyetola is better suited to handle the ministry.
Another former governor, Dave Umahi will head the Ministry of Works while Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna state will be assigned to the Ministry of Energy.
Adelabu is likely to be assigned to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning while Bagudu is likely to be named the Minister of Agriculture.
Fagbemi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) will be assigned to the Ministry of Justice as the Minister of Justice, Pate will be in charge of Health Ministry while Tuggar will be in charge of Foreign Affairs.
Wale Edun is expected to head the Ministry of Finance while Alake will be in charge of Ministry of Information.
Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President had last week hinted that President Tinubu may create new ministries from the existing ones.
The screening of the Ministers is expected to continue tomorrow.
