In a race against time to prevent a nationwide strike slated for October 3rd, the Federal Government has urgently called for a crisis meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).
The crucial meeting is set to kick off later this evening within the confines of Aso Villa’s Conference Room, located in the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President.
Initial plans had slated the meeting for noon today, but it was rescheduled to this evening, allowing Organised Labour the opportunity to reach out to their leaders outside of Abuja.
Reliable sources report that the Federal Government extended invitations to the NLC and the TUC earlier this morning through the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
