Newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has promised to secure the party’s success in the upcoming governorship polls in Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa scheduled for November 11, 2023.
Ganduje had earlier been elected as National Chairman of the APC by the National Executive Committee (NEC) during its 12th meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
Additionally, Senator Basiru Ajibola has been appointed as the National Secretary of the party.

The Imo State gubernatorial election will witness a tough competition as incumbent governor, Hope Uzodinma, seeks to retain his position amidst challenges from Sen. Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Sen. Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP).
Meanwhile, in Kogi State, the ruling APC’s candidate, Ahmed Ododo, faces opposition from the PDP’s Dino Melaye. Gov. But, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) Muritala Yakubu Ajaka could provide formidable competition to both candidates. Yahaya Bello’s successorship is at stake, making the election crucial for the party’s prospects.
Bayelsa State, on the other hand, witnesses a fierce contest as incumbent Governor Douye Diri seeks re-election. His main challenger is former governor and Minister of Petroleum (State), Timipre Sylva, who previously governed from 2008 to 2012.
