Dauda Lawal, the Governor of Zamfara State has paid a visit to the Federal University Gusau, to reassure the indigenes of Zamfara that security operatives are making efforts to secure the release of the abducted students.
Also, the governor promised to provide adequate security in the university community in order to secure the premises and avert such occurance from happening again in the future. While, making it safe for students to go about their daily academic activities without fear of attack.
The governor disclosed this on Thursday, while conducting an on-the-spot assessment of the security situation within the university and its environment, following the abduction of over 30 female students at Sabon Gida community.
Although, governor Lawal was away when the incident occurred and on his return he got the news about what had happened in the state during his absence and immediately visited the Federal University, Gusau to assess the situation, and also receive information from the school management so that they could work collectively in strengthen the security architecture in the university.
Furthermore, he took time to address the students, encouraging them not to allow the unpleasant situation to demoralize and push them away from pursuing their studies.
