The Operations Manager of the Sterling Bank, Mrs. Nneka Enuka Ugonochie, has been abducted by gunmen suspected to be Kidnappers in Bayelsa State.
It was learnt that the incident occurred on Friday around the PDP Junction of the Sanni Abacha Expressway in Yenagoa.
The victim, Mrs. Nneka Enuka is said to be a married woman and an indigene of Owerri in Imo State.
Security sources revealed that the victim had been warned severally to relocate from her area of residence which is adjacent to the residence of the arrested celebrated kidnapper, John Ewa aka John Lyon and Emmanuel Agase.
It was gathered that men of Operation Puff Adder and the anti-kidnapping squad of the state police command had been guarding the woman’s residence but the arrangement was altered after she complained of the cost of logistics.
It was also revealed that she was warned that until the state government approved the seizure of the building owned by the arrested kidnappers, she should be vigilant and security conscious.
The Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa State, Mr Romokere Ibani, who confirmed the kidnap, said the bank manager was abducted while driving to her office by four gunmen dressed in military camouflage.
“Investigation is ongoing to track down the hoodlums and free the victim,” he said.
