Daniel Ogoshi, a driver attached to the Office of the Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
The abduction occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, with the abductors leaving his phone and car behind.
The victim was said to have been kidnapped from the home of one of his friends at Ombi 2, College of Agriculture along Kwandere road, Lafia East Development Area of the state.
Mr. Christopher Ehima, the deputy governor’s media officer, confirmed the incident, adding that he was informed about the situation by some people.
He stated that the victim was one of the drivers assigned to the Deputy Governor’s Office and not the deputy governor’s personal driver. Affirming that he had no idea what had happened that led to the victim’s abduction.
He said, “I am shocked over the incident and assured that the state government would do everything humanly possible to secure the release of the kidnapped driver unhurt.”
DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Nasarawa state command, confirmed the incident and stated that the police were on top of the situation to ensure that the victim was released unharmed.
He urged residents of the state to provide the command with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the kidnappers.
