Popular Nigerian comedian, Julius Agwu, has commented on the long-standing feud between fellow comedians Ayo ‘AY’ Makun and Basketmouth.
During an interview with Radio station Naija 102 FM, Agwu suggested that there may be more to the conflict than the stated reason of a N30,000 dispute.
He believes that there could be an underlying issue that caused Basketmouth to become upset; an issue which has not been publicly discussed.
Additionally, Agwu shared a personal experience in which AY hung up on him during a conversation about conflicting concert dates.
Agwu’s annual Easter Sunday concert in Lagos often coincides with AY Makun’s own Easter Sunday event.
“I don’t think it’s only N30,000. Maybe there is more. It seems like there is something that is making them angry and they are holding onto but they can’t talk about it.
“Basketmouth and AY dey quarrel say 30,000, it depends. Maybe because Basketmouth is upset at another thing, but he didn’t bring it clearly,” Agwu said.
Drifting from the conversation, he said, “I called AY that Easter Sunday is my day and he cut the call on me”.
