Former Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, expressed his gratitude towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing him as a minister.
He revealed that his appointment came as a pleasant surprise, especially considering that he had initially lost hope of being selected after the first round of Ministerial nominees were submitted.
Keyamo recounted how he had already prepared to go on vacation with his family and had packed his luggage when he received the news of his ministerial appointment.

Speaking during the ministerial nominee hearing presided over by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Keyamo acknowledged that his thirty-year experience in law had played a role in this achievement.
He emphasized that his nomination was a testament to the grace of God and the special favor of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Keyamo’s words echoed his sense of gratitude: “My being here is by the grace of God and by the special benevolence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Opening up about his initial doubts regarding becoming a minister, Keyamo reflected, “I have lost hope of becoming a minister. I have already packed my bags for vacation with my family before I heard about my nomination as a minister. So I am happy to be here today.”
Keyamo’s nomination as a minister was transmitted to the Senate in a letter on Friday, it came on the heels of the removal of Maryam Shetty as a nominee.
