Nigerian comedian Ada Jesus recently opened up about why she left the world of Nollywood movies during her interview with media personality Chude. She bravely shared that the primary reason for her departure was the troubling trend of certain producers pressuring her for intimate favors in exchange for roles in their films.
She explained how this distressing situation reached a point where it became genuinely alarming for her. These producers would often invite her to secluded places for discussions, causing her to fear for her safety, and some even went as far as suggesting that they could make her a famous actress if she complied with their demands.
In her statement during the interview, she stated, “I decided to step away from acting in Nollywood because some producers kept insisting on intimate relations. They frequently invited me to private settings, and there was one instance where I felt compelled to escape because I was genuinely afraid for my safety.”
