Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, firmly stated that he won’t seek any political position beyond his current term in office. Speaking on Channels TV’s Politics Today, he emphasized his commitment to being a governor and expressed no interest in roles like chairman, senator, or member of the House of Representatives.
Governor Sule’s declaration followed the Supreme Court’s confirmation of his election victory, dismissing the appeal by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, David Ombugadu. The court’s five-member panel, led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, deemed the appeal lacking merit.
Addressing Ombugadu during the interview, Sule advised patience, asserting, “I came in only to be a governor. I did not come in to be a chairman, a senator, or a member of the House of Representatives. I don’t have any dreams for those offices.”
Furthermore, he made it clear that he harbors no ambitions for higher offices, stating, “I have no dream of becoming even president. You can take it from me confidently that I have no intention to run for the office of a senator. By the time I finish my eight years, I can do whatever I want to do.”
