So, top Nigerian musicians and celebs in their respective rights, Peter Okoye and Seun Kuti, have been fighting dirty on social media over their differing political viewpoints.
Hold on, we are coming. Just be patient, would you? LOL. Yeah, go ahead and grab that popcorn.
Apparently Peter is rooting for Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi ahead of the general elections later this month, while Seun doesn’t rate Obi and considers the politician a part of the establishment that has brought Nigeria to her knees.
Seun Kuti recently referred to Peter Obi as an opportunist.
The son of late Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti, also declared that all the major presidential candidates running for the 2023 presidential election, including Peter Obi, cannot save Nigeria.
The musician offered his take during an interview with Channels TV.
So, what did Peter Okoye now say?
Peter Okoye, one half of the famous PSquare music duo, was mad with Seun for dragging his choice of presidential candidate like a Tiger Generator.
While reacting to the comments made by Seun in a post on Instagram, Peter Okoye said that the Afrobeat musician is frustrated and that he has erased his father’s history and legacy.
Peter also said Seun is dirty and needs cleaning up so bad.
Kai!!!
Peter Okoye wrote: “Dude just erased his father’s History! You said only the people of Nigeria can save Nigeria! Is PO (Peter Obi) and the rest of the candidates not the Nigerian people?…. SHAME! SHAME!! SHAME!!!”
In a bid to reiterate his point, Seun Kuti on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, took to Instagram Live to insist that Nigeria doesn’t need a messianic figure.
He then went after the PSquare brothers again saying, “After Psquare don do enough shows for all the rich men and all the politicians of this country, na today Peter wan dey tell me say him know what is good for Nigeria?
“After they’ve played the game. They’ve hyped them up. They sit down with you coming to tell you today that they love you. Why didn’t they love you ten years ago?
“Ask PSquare why didn’t he love you 20 years ago when they were jumping up and down with PDP all over the place?”

What was Peter’s response this time?
In response to Seun Kuti’s jibe, Peter Okoye stated that the 40-year-old multi-instrumentalist is frustrated, calling on him to learn from his young nephew, Made.
“Dude, I understand your frustration. But realize that the sky is big enough for all birds to fly. @burnaboy and other great artistes have climbed on our great Fela’s ladder to blow. Comport yourself and pray to your god. My God has blessed my destiny & I’ll 4ever remain thankful.
“I’ll surely keep you in my prayers. Learn from your nephew @Madekuti cos he is well guided and clean.”
And then what?
In reaction to Peter comparing him to Made, Seun Kuti took it personal, recalling the PSquare brothers’ public spat over differences in music, including their marital issues.
Seun said the PSquare brothers are always washing their dirty linens in public (social media) and that they should learn from his own family who keep their squabbles secret.
“Why you no use your nephew talk to me? Abi your own brother. Are you not proud of yourself? After una don disgrace una own family online, yab yab unaself, throw unaself anyhow because of money, you are now using my own family to talk to me”, Seun fired back.
He also said the PSquare brothers and other Nigerian entertainers can do anything for money and that they have no principles.
“After you played for Buhari in 2015. You think say dem no reach out to us too for those times? But we know how to say no. No be everything we go chop,” Seun said.
If your Pidgin English is bad, we apologise deeply. But at this point, we do advise that you hire an expert on the language. LOL.
Seun also said people shouldn’t think celebrities like Peter have sense just because they are entertainers.
Also, in a move of solidarity with his uncle, Made Kuti hit back at Peter Okoye, stating that the Kuti family are united.
“Please do not use me as a tool to slight, insult or badmouth my uncle. I’m not sure how we are perceived, so I should clarify. We stay united as a family and intend to keep it that way. Thank you,” he said.
That would be all for now. You are welcome, Gbeborun!!
