Stella Maris, wife of Nollywood icon Mr Ibu, has publicly apologized to the Actor’s Guild of Nigeria (AGN) for her previous false accusations of neglect.
In an exclusive interview with Uche Maduagwu, she admitted to being manipulated and clarified that the AGN, particularly Kate Henshaw, did extend support during Mr Ibu’s health crisis.
Addressing the controversy surrounding her initial statements, Stella Maris expressed regret, stating, “My people, I am so sorry about this. I was manipulated to say all those things.” She acknowledged the AGN’s assistance and disclosed that Kate Henshaw visited Mr Ibu in the ICU, emphasizing their supportive role.
This comes in response to a video released on October 21, where Kate Henshaw vehemently denied allegations of neglect. Henshaw affirmed that the AGN had consistently supported its members, including Mr Ibu, through personal and general donations.
She attributed Stella Maris’s misinformation to understandable concern for her husband’s well-being but emphasized that the AGN had indeed provided assistance.

As the controversy unfolded, social media reactions poured in, with some questioning the credibility of Stella Maris’s claims:
LayiAlome: Madam this is not the time for you to be granting interviews when your husband you clam to love is still on hospital bed fighting for his life.
Kirababy_: Her husband is on hospital bed and she’s busy granting interviews?
Chioma183: Who manipulated you to say it madam?
