There is no love lost for Senator Representing Imo West senatorial district and former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, following his highly-publicized arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at this Maitama residence in Abuja.
Okorocha was arrested for jumping administrative bail, and stalling his corruption trial by refusing court processes from the EFCC, the anti-graft agency said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the APC presidential aspirant in a chat with journalists during the siege at his residence, said the EFCC’s arrest is to prevent him from attending the APC Presidential aspirants screening exercise.

Following his ordeal at the hands of the EFCC, Nigerians showed little sympathy for Okorocha, with some trolling him for the now-viral video showing the ex-governor praying while sprawled flat on the floor.
One user took no prisoners in his tweet saying,
@YomiAkinfesoye EFCC came calling and Rochas Okorocha turned prayer warrior but when he was looting state money, he didn’t call on God.

@Inspired_Abdul The Rochas Okorocha I used to see on NTA as a kid is very different from the one today. E be things.
@xeriiiiphhh Can EFCC account for all the money they have recovered from Nigerians since inception? Can they point out one use it has on impacting on a poor Nigerians life? If no, they should leave Okorocha alone biko. Everybody na thief….

@iam_brainchildd The EFCC’s raid on Rochas Okorocha’s home in that manner should be everyone’s cup of tea even if you don’t like him. If a former Governor, current Senator and a Presidential aspirant can be humiliated in this manner, then me and you are probably going to have it worse.
@prince_ade How you sympathize with the elite on some matters is comedic. What’s our business with Okorocha and the EFCC? It’s not our drama.
