Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode fondly called Toyo Baby, has revealed she was so excited to reunite with her mentor, Funke Akindele, on the set of their new film, “A Tribe Called Judah,” that she cried tears of joy.
Olayode, who is best known for her role as Toyosi in Jenifa’s Diary, was dropped from the show in 2017 over alleged monetary issues. This led to a strained relationship with Akindele.
However, in 2023, Olayode publicly apologized to Akindele for her past behaviour, and the two have since reconciled.
In a recent Instagram post spotted by Quest Times, Olayode shared her excitement about working with Akindele again on “A Tribe Called Judah.”
“Thank you for all the excitement and messages since I posted the video introducing the characters of A Tribe Called Judah yesterday. Posting this reel so y’all can see that I am as excited as you are. I was so excited I cried on set. Thank you so much mama @funkejenifaakindele for the opportunity to play Hilda. You are simply the BEST,” she wrote.
Olayode also said she is counting down the days until the film’s release on December 15, 2023.
