In a recent video that has been making rounds on the internet, President Bola Tinubu was seen chastising his own son, Seyi Tinubu, for his presence in the FEC meeting.
Addressing the matter before the commencement of the FEC meeting at the presidential villa, President Tinubu expressed his concern about individuals who lacked proper authorization gaining access to the council chamber. He specifically mentioned that he had noticed “the undue access of people sneaking in and out of this council, including… I saw the photographer of my son, Seyi, sitting behind… That is not acceptable.”
In response to this situation, President Tinubu made it clear that only specific individuals were permitted to attend these important national meetings. He mentioned the names of those with authorized access, which include Hadiza Usman, special adviser on policy coordination, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser on information and strategy, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, principal private secretary, and Damilotun Aderemi, private secretary. He emphasized, “These are the people who are granted the exception to be here when we are conducting the business of the nation. Unless I send for you, don’t come.”
To ensure compliance with this directive, President Tinubu called upon George Akume, the secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), and Folashade Yemi-Esan, head of service of the federation.
