The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won at a polling unit in Imo State, defeating the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other parties in the ongoing gubernatorial election.
As gathered by Quest Times, the PDP garnered 77 votes at the Community School, Obodo, Araimo ward in Ikeduru local government area, while the APC obtained 17 votes and the Labour Party secured 4 votes.
This victory comes as a boost for the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, who has expressed optimism about winning the election.
Anyanwu has stated that he is confident of ultimately winning if the election remains largely peaceful.
“Honestly everything is getting calm. About in seven wards, ballot boxes have been carted away. That does not stop me from winning,” Anyanwu said, as reported by Daily Trust. “INEC said that it will not count any votes in any place where there were records of violence. If the election is free and credible, I will win the elections.
“I am not bothered about the snatching of ballots because INEC said that any places where there are incidences of violence would not be counted.”
