Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and their presidential candidate in the last February elections, has fired back at his political rival, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
In a statement issued by NNPP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Yakubu Shendam, the party responded to remarks made by Ganduje, the chairman of the ruling party, who had referred to Kwankwaso as a “serial loser.”
NNPP pointed to the alleged scandals surrounding Ganduje, suggesting that he should not be taken seriously by any right-thinking Nigerian. The party asserted that these scandals had caused “irreparable damage” to Ganduje’s reputation and claimed that with him at the helm, the All Progressives Congress (APC) was already a struggling party.
Shendam stated, “Ganduje is a liability to Tinubu, a liability to his party APC, and a liability to the country. I can bet that with Ganduje as the National Chairman, President Bola Tinubu is going to lose the 2027 presidential election because Nigerians will not vote for him.”
Shendam also reminded Ganduje of their past political associations, highlighting how Kwankwaso had supported him in various roles. However, he claimed that Ganduje had betrayed Kwankwaso in return.
The statement further alleged that Ganduje had not won any elections in his life except the one in 2015, which Kwankwaso had allegedly handed to him.
Finally Kwankwaso added that he had contested elections 17 times and won 14 of those contests.
