Datti Baba Ahmed, the Labour Party’s Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election, has raised concerns over the Supreme Court’s decision to affirm Bola Tinubu’s victory.
According to Ahmed, the verdict is marred by “illegality” and “unconstitutionality.”
Ahmed, speaking candidly on Arise TV, criticized the Supreme Court’s decision, labeling it as “illegality” and “unconstitutionality.”
He expressed his frustration, stating, “Labour Party won the presidential election. The Supreme Court’s ruling did not affirm Tinubu’s victory; rather they affirmed INEC’s illegality and unconstitutionality.” Although we cannot change the outcome, it doesn’t mean we agree with it.”
Also, Labour Party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, held a press conference where he voiced his disappointment, accusing the court of taking issues like “rigging, identity theft, forgery, and perjury” with levity.
He also accused the Supreme Court of “abandoning its responsibility as a court of law and policy” and exhibited an “aversion to public opinion.”
