Mr Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has been re-elected to represent the Agege 1 seat in the state assembly for a sixth term.
According to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obasa, who ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), received 17,214 votes.
Dr Lukman Adeniji, the INEC Returning Officer for the Agege constituency election, made the announcement on Sunday at the Collation Centre in Orile Agege.
According to Adeniji, Obasa defeated Labour Party candidate Raheem Alani with 3,933 votes, African Democratic Congress candidate Kafayat Biobaku with 62 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party with 1,609 votes.
He said that eight political parties fielded candidates for the election held on Saturday.
