Former Spain and Barcelona head coach Luis Enrique has arrived in England with his agents for talks with Chelsea.
Chelsea are undergoing their search for a new head coach following the sacking of Graham Potter at the weekend, and Enrique has emerged as one of the leading candidates alongside former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann and ex-Tottenham man Mauricio Pochettino.
Contact has already been made through intermediaries, but Chelsea will now hold face-to-face discussions with Enrique and his representatives, including Ivan de la Pena.
Enrique, who left his role with Spain following the World Cup finals in Qatar, has not hidden his desire to work in the Premier League in recent weeks.
“I would like to go to England to work. I follow English football a lot, more than Spanish. It’s a very interesting league, I don’t hide it, I would like to go to work there,” Enrique said.
