It was a dramatic moment as Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello was filmed angrily walking out on his colleagues in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, during a meeting in Abuja on Monday.
This comes after the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, allegedly announced Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the consensus presidential candidate of the party.
A source close to the governor confirmed that governor Bello angrily walked out of the APC Northern governors meeting at the point where he was asked to withdraw from the race for a Southern candidate, a decision the Kogi Governor kicked against.

Earlier, governor Bello had expressed confidence in defeating Atiku Abubakar, PDP flag-bearer, in 2023, should he emerge the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Bello claimed he would make an excellent president as the youngest governor in the country.
He made the remarks while speaking with Channels Television on Sunday.
Asked if he could defeat Atiku during the presidential election in 2023, Yahaya Bello said: “I can defeat Atiku if I get the APC ticket and by the grace of God I will be congratulated as the winner by 2pm on the election day.”
