“You never grow old in the eyes of your parents,” chimed ex-federal Minister Obiageli Ezekwesili (aka Oby), after Pastor and Mrs Adeboye, General Overseers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), sang her a soulful birthday tune.
“Hello, beloveth Obisko,” began Adeboye, 81. “Little by little, my little girl is now 60 years old. What a wonder! Congratulations!! We want you to know we love you, we appreciate you, you are very, very special. So, we are singing for you,” they both chorused, before delving into the birthday song in unison.
