Ayokunle Odekunle, a well-known Nigerian lawyer based in Canada, has passed away following a brave struggle against stage 4 cancer.
An X user, @KayceeMaduYEG, shared the somber news on Saturday through a social media post, expressing deep sadness over the loss of his colleague.
“Ayo was a brilliant young lawyer who sacrificed so much to be called to the Alberta Bar this past June whilst terminally ill. We had hoped for a miracle,” the user added.
Following the news, Netizens flooded the social media app, X, pouring in their condolence messages and heartfelt emotions early Saturday.
Quest Times gathered that Odekunle worked as a barrister and solicitor at Queck and Associates Law Office, Alberta, Canada.
Odekunle started his career, after graduating at the University of Ibadan as a law student, Oyo State, in 2011.
Afterwards, he was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012 and also the Alberta Bar in 2023.
He worked with Kenna Partners, a leading commercial litigation firm in Nigeria. As a litigator in Nigeria, he took on many high-profile cases on behalf of numerous multinationals and secured victories.
It was learnt that Ayokunle’s practice centered around all aspects of Family Law, Immigration, Wills and Estate, and general litigation.
The late lawyer is survived by his wife and children.
